The Brazier Interiors
project was one of £47m worth of projects judged this year and
was subsequently awarded a “Commended” status closely missing
out on the Gold or Silver awards.
“What the Judges say”
This year there was an amazing 75% increase in award entries, with the
total value of the contracts judged in excess of £47m. We traveled
some 3,500 miles across the length and breadth of the country, to be
rewarded with the privilege of viewing some outstanding examples of
craftsmanship and design. The standard of entries gets better each year,
which leads us to believe this is just a snapshot of what the interiors
industry is achieving day after day. The outstanding quality of this
high level of entries made judging extremely difficult.

Guest judge's comments
This impressive and well-executed project is notable for its design
simplicity, range and economy of finishes and materials used. The use
of featured glass integrated into the design at key focal points helps
to create a fine working environment built to a very high standard.

Judges Summary:
All projects visited were considered to represent an excellent quality
of overall finished environment and this has made the judging and evaluation
very difficult, with a very fine grain of distinguishing factors being
considered in the final decisions.
In looking at the creation of a total environment for the clients involved,
in each case I have taken into consideration the high standards of workmanship,
materials and design. This process involved analysing a combination
of factors including client engagement, design, procurement, construction,
handover and aftercare which have all contributed to the success of
these projects and the level of client satisfaction
evident from the visits. In other words I have considered not just the
finished product but also the journey made and the difficulties encountered
and overcome to get there.
