Slick new look for oil and gas service provider
28 February, 2012
Hampshire based Brazier Interiors has helped a company that is bucking the trend and riding on a wave of success.
Plant Asset Management, a part of the international Oil and Gas Services Company Petrofac, approached the interior design firm after it became clear that the success of its Southampton office would lead to further growth in 2012 and beyond. Plant Asset Management had outgrown its existing space and needed to move to a more modern, spacious building at The Quay in Ocean Village.
It approached Brazier Interiors to design and plan its new space and spearhead the move from Enterprise House to The Quay. Brazier was tasked with creating a more modern, open space that made features of the surrounding area and allowed for future expansion plans.
Brazier’s team of designers, installers and engineers planned and installed glass partitions within the new office to define the meeting rooms and office space. The use of glass also meant the marina was more visible to employees in the office, no matter where they were situated, and maximised the retention of natural light.
The design of the office was based heavily on open plan in order to create a more communicative working environment and clever use of space planning and storage solutions helped to create a tidier office.
Brazier Interiors also specified furniture for the new office and chose ergonomically designed chairs to ensure staff were comfortable and happy in their new environment.
Forward-thinking technology systems were installed within Plant Asset Management’s new boardroom, including a SMART Board Series interactive whiteboard, which allows users to share their computer files on an interactive screen that it attached to a projector.
Applications on the screen can be controlled through a digital pen and changes to documents made live during meetings and conferences.
Brazier Interiors was keen to ensure minimal disruption to staff and completed the office move over a weekend, creating a smooth transition.
Roy Martin, Managing Director of Brazier Interiors, said: “It is incredibly positive to see companies in the area doing well and expanding even under the shadow of a double dip recession. We have carried out a number of space planning and design projects for businesses that are downsizing so Petrofac Plant Asset Management really is bucking the trend.”
“The results of the fit out are fantastic and staff have a much more open, modern and spacious environment to work in.”
Geoff Baker, Director of Petrofac Plant Asset Management, added: “The new office looks fantastic and our staff are enjoying their new workplace. We all work hard and long hours at Plant Asset Management, servicing our international client base, so it’s important to have a comfortable office environment that everyone enjoys! Even small touches like the ergonomic chairs specified by Brazier Interiors have made a huge difference and we are confident that when we plan to expand we will have plenty of space to do so.”
Brazier Interiors works with companies of all shapes and sizes, providing a complete service including, partitioning, suspending ceilings, furniture systems, floor coverings, mezzanine floors, maintenance, racking and shelving, design and space planning and design and build.
