BIS are welcomed back to Stanbridge Earls School

Following the successful completion of the refurbishment of the schools dining facility during the Easter Holidays, Brazier Interiors were invited back to refurbish the boys dormitory block. The existing 1990`s building consisted of communal washing areas and rather bland décor and off-the-shelf furniture that “fitted where it touch”

Mr Bill Hadley, the schools project manager spoke to Roy Martin, Brazier Interiors Managing Director with a proposal, “I need a cool contemporary building that would reflect the school well in a global market, but the down side is I need it in eight weeks.

The gauntlet was thrown down and Brazier Interiors took on the challenge.

The dormitory was completed on Friday 11th September 2009 for the students return to school over the following weekend. The refurbishment consisted of all thirteen dormitories and one Matron’s flat having en suit toilet and shower facilities, bespoke fitted bedroom furniture, TV lounge and “coffee shop”, new flooring, ceilings, décor along with full mechanical and electrical services.

Again Brazier Interiors chose to work with Home & Industrial Heating Services for both the mechanical and electrical installations.

Email from Robert Bailey – Deputy Headmaster, to the school Governors.

Dear Colleagues, It is rare that I am left speechless, but having had a little time to think through what I have just witnessed, please do take the opportunity to view the redevelopment works in the John Attlee House. You really do need to view the house rather than take someone else’s word for it.

This house was first opened as I arrived to begin work at Stanbridge and I have since seen several refurbishments over the past 18 years.

This is not a refurbishment but rather a complete redevelopment of the building, which now delivers a boarding accommodation second to none.

Having viewed the boarding house this lunchtime I was able this afternoon to show the house to our first Year 11 returning parent.

Her reaction was similar to those who have already taken the opportunity to view this house – one of high praise and approval that children will experience excellent pastoral facilities.

Bill and his team deserve all our congratulations on an outstanding job well done.

With best wishes for a successful term.

Robert J Bailey
